In May 2025, Vietnam and Mexico commemorate 50 years of diplomatic relations. At Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, this historic milestone holds a particularly special significance, as the hotel was once home to the very first Embassy of Mexico in Vietnam, from 1976 to the early 1980s.

This tribute to shared history also ushers in a celebration of cultural richness. Following the success of its inaugural edition last year, the Mexican Culinary Fiesta is returning to the Metropole from 16 May to 15 June 2025. This month-long vibrant culinary journey celebrates the rich flavours and long-standing heritage of Mexican cuisine – recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Guest Chef Tomás Alaniz – co-owner of Danzante restaurant in Bangkok – will headline this year’s festivities with a curated menu that pays homage to Mexico’s time-honoured gastronomy, promising to tantalize taste buds with bold and authentic flavours. Complementing the cuisine, our expert mixologists will craft a bespoke cocktail selection featuring the finest tequila.
